I had to give a presentation to my residency program on the use of pacifiers in preventing SIDS. Extensive research shows that the use of a pacifier when putting a baby down for EVERY sleep significantly reduces the incidence of SIDS. You could imagine my relief when the most recent ultrasound of our baby showed that she is already faithfully using her pacifier!!
